Dark scales all over?

Hi everyone! So I've just gotten a new beardie around a week and a half ago and I had a question about the dark scales on him - like down his spine, around the head, and on his sides, along with his beard which seems to permanently be black on the edges. Is this normal or is something stressing him out/does he seem healthy?

I've attached images below - they're always this colour or even darker, sometimes his head spikes

Temps are 41C basking, 25C cool side.

Thanks in advance!

That can sometimes indicate stress or something wrong, but he looks OK in the photo. His beard looks more gray than dark black which is good. Your temp range sounds just right for him. He may be a bit stressed from his relocation, but keep an eye on him. Look for his beard to look very dark or for him to act lethargic and hide which may indicate an underlying issue. It wouldn't be unheard of for him to just have some scales that are darker pigment than the surrounding ones either.

My male has this same color and gets a little darker like that before he sheds. Maybe give him a good soak he looks a little dehydrated or just feed him some veggies with extra water on it. He looks a lot like my boy Kit Kat which is 11 yrs old now he's an old man. Lol

He looks dehydrated? How can you tell? I've been wondering if he was or not, but he eats his veggies fine so I thought he was okay...

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
