D3 with MVB?

Have the new enclosures built for our dragons (three) ready to go with MVB. I have been getting crossed signals if I should continue to supplement with D3 when the dragons go into their new homes with MVB lighting. One source stated no more D3 and another stated that you need to supplement D3 unless your dragons are in natural sunlight for three or more hours per day.

Can someone help clear this up for me?

When you use the mercury Vapor Bulbs you need the calcium, phosophorus free, NO D3. The repcal ones are recommended. This is because the uvb from the MVB's are so much better then the reptisun 10 tubes

Beardie Parents is right, MVB bulbs put out the perfect amount of UVB which causes your dragon to produce their own Vitamin D3 in the amounts they need. Make sure you set your bulbs at the right distance from their basking spot (Very Important). I use Mega Ray EB 60 watt flood UVB lamps set at 14-16 inches from their basking spots (you have to have a separate heat source with this bulb but its easier to control your temps thats why I like them).

Thanks for the information. I have the self ballasted Mega ray 100 watt, and I will be sealing the interior of the viv and building a fake rock basking perch at 12-14 inches away from the bulb. Petunia is only 8 weeks old now and will be in her new home soon.

Honestly, I prefer the Zoo Med calcium or the powder from Beautiful Dragons.com it's pure precipitated calcium carbonate and is phosphorus free and D3 free.

RIght now I have been alternating between zoo med Repti calcium with d3 and Rep-Cal Phosphours-Free calcium with d3 for one feeding each day.
Which is better? any opinions...

One feeding each week I have Rep-Cal Herptivite Multivitamins.

I also have Sticky tongue farms Miner-all I--with d3 and O with out d3 but have seen too much on these boards about those-- wife has them for the Panther Cham. Any one used these products?

Thanks for all the help
