I know I shouldn't but it's a tick or something! But, I took off shed off a single spike on my beardie's side spikes too soon! Now it looks all deflated and its soft and an odd color. Should I get some of that liquid Band-Aid stuff to encase and protect it?

Always had a problem with picking scabs and such, shed is no different I guess. Usually I'm pretty good at assessing HEY ITS NOT READY YET but for some reason the urge was strong this time..*sigh*

My beardie's spikes always seem to be hard/stiff during a shed but become pretty soft after her shed. As far as your concern over the color difference I don't know about that. If you can post a picture maybe some of the more experienced BD owners can provide input.

But yeah, gizmo, it is definitely sore for her. She twitches when it's touched and expanded her beard at me slightly afterwards.

Awe, poor thing. Hopefully it will heal quickly without any kind of permanent damage to her spike or skin. Chalk this up to a lesson learned . . . DONT'T PICK @ SHED!! Lol!
