Cross-species illnesses?

We ended up with a spur-of-the-moment unexpected rescue ball python last night. She is being kept in a different room than my other reptiles, especially my sand boa. I'm meticulous about hand-washing (and even changing clothes, if necessary) between handling my animals or messing with anything in their enclosures. However, Vera (my new python) is in my bedroom, and Jayne (my beardie) often snuggles with me as I watch TV in bed at night. Are there any cross-species airborne illnesses I need to worry about between a python and a beardie? I hate to lose my bedroom snuggle time during several months of quarantine. They will never come into physical contact.

Not really, mites are the only thing to worry about with newly acquired snakes. Other than that, no problem.

Yeah I would say the same, just sanitize hands in between handling and quarantine them.

Also do not hold the snake and the beardie at the same time because beardies can get freaked out by snakes and act defensive, Which happened to my snake which escaped and accidentally fell on one of my beardies, which in turn defended herself and bit the snake (thankfully she recovered fully).

How scary that your snake got bit! Glad she recovered. I'd be scared to have them out at the same time. The bp is 4.5 feet long. My beardie is only about 8 inches (though even when he's bigger, I would never let them be out together).

We also have a sand boa named Malcolm and a leo named Simon. :)

Yeah I was very scared when it happened and now that she has recovered I always make sure she has a locked tank to prevent escapes.

Ah ok Your BP is much bigger than mine (only around 2ft) and my beardies are much bigger (20", 18", and 9"). Good they basically shouldn't know that the other one exists.

Cool I love sand boas and Leopard Geckos. They are so cool. :)

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
