Crickets vs Mealworms

Believe me I completely realize that a varied diet is the best for beardies, however I believe mine has little interest in crickets. I had dropped a few in with him, and he just looked at em with very low interest. However when I dropped in 4 mealworms with popped heads, he went on them ravenously. Should I be worried that he doesn't care for crickets, or worried that he might only be on a mealworm diet if thats all he will eat?

i would definetly worry if all he is eating is mealworms as they are sometimes harmful due to impaction and have very low nutrition. they are basically a pointless feeder, like ramen noodles to humans :lol: if you can try reptiworms or b. dubia roaches and see how he likes them. i bet he'll at least like the worms since they constantly move around. if hes over 16" try superworms too.

ok, I may see tomorrow again about crickets, they are gutloaded so should be very nutritious to him, will just have to put those in with him before offering anything else

ok, you may just have to show some tough love and only offer him the crickets for now and he should eat them when hes hungry enough. thats how i had to get mineto get used to eating his greens, as much as i hated doing it nothing else worked.
