what are the pros and cons for crickets and dubias? i have 4 beardies all about 2-3 months old.
and i have decided that i should start a farm cuz crickets at local petsore are pricey. not to mention they probly hate me for buying all the small crickets heh

Dubia Roach

Higher meat to shell ratio than crickets do.
Slow moving, so if you drop one, you dont have to worry about it getting away.
Can't climb
Can't fly (The males can only flutter, but not very far)
Don't smell
Don't make noise
Live for about 18 months
Breed extremely easy
Females give live birth
Don't bite

Crickets

Are widely available
Cheaper prices
Survive lower temperatures

Dubia are a great source of food for the dragons. I have over 50 adults and around 80 subadults to babies at 2 locations. If it wasn't for the dubia i would have some hungry dragons :blob8: . I just stated to sell some of my dubia on this site.

You can buy small dubia feed the dragons and what ever grows larger then the dragons put them aside for breeding. It will take a small dubia 3 to 5 monts to become a breeder. Then each female will have around 30 babies each month .

ive been feeding my dragons crickets for 4 months now... and my friend about the same he recently switched to roaches and loves it...
i thought of it... i just cant get over the fact ther roaches.... ive had to accidents with the cats getting into the crickets and lets just say it was a mess... so i have read that roaches are the way to go if ur goin to breed them.. i tried 3 times to breed crickets with not luck...

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
