pmsl......Do they make a nice tune...? we have silent crickets in my local store....i think i would be tempted to squish them if i were you...lol..not sure your beardie would thank me for that advice though... maybe drop some tasty treat in the keeper for them to get stuck into...?? cant offer anything else other than my deepest sympathies....(chuckling to myself at the mental picture of a chorus of crickets lined up like a choir giving you a rendition of amazing grace.. )

Some species of crickets get pretty big before they get the hard exo skeleton and start chirping. You can probably call some breeders and find out. I'm sure they will be forthcoming and it will help keep you sane.

Wild ones invade my basement in the spring and summer, and my fiancee has been know to throw shoes, boots and even video games in the general direction of their chirping. Now we run the dehumidifier all spring and summer. That drives me nuts (I don't mind the crickets) but I got sick of things getting thrown across the house, so I conceded. hehe.

I usually buy the medium/small large ones (if that makes sense) to avoid the chirping but the reptile store only had large ones. :angry5: I was told a while back that the feeder crickets have to get to a big size to be able to chirp. I got the small/mediums for my gecko. I was hoping to feed the chirpers tonight but after feeding Draco I still had a couple of singers. :banghead: Oh well, if I have to I'll put them in my storage room and close the door. They are supper tomorrow!!!
