So, I know the way folks normally keep crickets (plastic storage bin with proper ventilation), and the various somewhat-more-expensive alternatives (roaches, reptiworms). Crickets are really the easiest thing to obtain where I am, and my boyfriend doesn't want roaches. I'm mostly just trying to figure out a way to keep them without them driving me crazy. They're inside right now, with a towel over the screen lid to try to keep the stink in while still allowing for enough ventilation, but they're so friggin' loud, as I'm sure many of you know.
I've been thinking of putting them on the porch, inside a 20-gallon filled with an inch or so of water to keep ants from getting in and eating their food, and with the towel secured to the screen to keep out flies and other critters. What do you think?
