Hi,
Just bought 2000 crickets who arrived on Wed. So far I have caught at least 20 crickets roaming the house. I know a few managed to jump out of the box, but not 20! I noticed they are squeezing through the top mesh cover... any suggestions. It's such a waste to have to throw them out since they are loose in the house for who knows how long munching on who knows what. Every time I see one I see a nickle jumping across the room. I am thinking a smaller mesh screen of course, but does anyone else have any trick. Since I started typing this, I have caught 2 more... It's out of hand! At first it was kinda funny but it's gone beyond. For tonight I have placed a very sheer sheet under the screen top!

Any suggestions welcomed

Are you talking about a screen cover on a glass tank, or did you put a mesh piece on the lid of a plastic tub? I had trouble with crickets escaping the glass tank with the screen cover, because it isnt tight fitting. It's better to keep them in a tub with a tight fitting lid and cut a section out of it and superglue a piece of screen on the underside of it.

I actually bought a flat collander at Walmart, cut a piece out of the lid to fit, and pressed it in sealed with glue. Perfect. No escapees!

get an plastic outside trash can *bought one the other day and its roughly $10* and tape CLEAR packing tape around the top 4 inches of the inside of it. you wont need a lid.
*dunno why but the crickets cant jump or crawl past it*
put egg things in there...ya know like the purple or grey egg cases that are put into shipping containers for crickets or mealies. then when
you want to feed just shake one of the egg things into your dusting bowl. easy :) ive never had any problems and thats what my suplier does...he breeds geckos lol
so you know he has a ton of crickets around.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
