Actually the chirping doesn't bother me (of course the ones I have don't chirp yet, too young) but all we have to do is open a window and it's a chorus outside of crickets, frogs and whatever else. Living on the edge of a woods gets you used to those things!

I know what you mean I used to live outside a small town and it was noisier than being in the city in some ways. Although for some reason hearing a lot of crickets is less annoying than that 1 cricket in your house you cant find chirping all night.

I've told my kids that those "city" folks PAY for Recordings of "non-city" noises! With that said, I camped out this past Saturday (cub scout thing) and there were 2 owls that were being rather noisey and rude all night long!

I just reach in and grab the roaches by the handful. I never could stand crickets regardless. I'll handle roaches any day over crickets. Amazing the grip the B. dubia have. B. dubia get to about 1.5" - 1.7". Very meaty compared to crickets. My dragons used to eat 30 crickets a session. Once I switched to roaches, maybe 4-6.

No roaches for this gal. I understand they are awesome to feed BD's ...but I can NOT for the life of me bring them knowingly into our house! My hubby isn't too fond of the crickets, he'd FREAK on the roaches!

I've had my beardies for a year now and I can touch the wax and phoenix worms but definately not morio worms and ost definately not crickets or locusts.
Yesterday morning a cricket juped out of the viv and I couldn't find it then this morning I saw it and would not catch it so I just tried to squish it with my tub of calcium for the beardies and the lid fell off and the dust went everywhere! I ended up standing on it to kill it.
Can'tstand them at all.

OH WOW ...I can't handle the Phoenix Worms - period. Tweezers are used for those. Too many bad ordeals with maggots!

I still jump at the crickets but I've actually touched them. The pitfalls of having the sliding front doors to the viv is that those suckers seem to JUMP at ya. I shut the door so quick on one, I squished it. Hubby wasn't happy when he told me about finding 2 of them in the bathroom.

It's not like crickets really do any damage when they're in your house... They just jump out and scare you, lol.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
