Hey guys, I live in North Bay, Ontario and was wondering if people can make suggestion for cricket suppliers. I have 3 hatchlings and they eat a TON of crickets. Just figured if I had a supplier I wouldn't pay quite so much and wouldn't be running to the pet store every few days. Plus the stores here are unreliable (which is exactly why I traveled 4hrs to a breeder to buy my guys). I asked several if they carry the size of crickets I needed FAR in advance to me actally buying them and naturally they all say yes. But more often then not their 1/2" are more like 1".

Thanks :)

Well I just placed my first order from http://feederfactory.ca/store/index.php
Anyone else ever use them? It was $23 for 1000 1/2" crickets and cost me another $14 to ship. Hope they last for a few weeks before they grow too big for my hatchlings to eat, I gut load them really well with some store nought cricket food as well as the usual house scraps.

Sigh .... most of my order arrived dead and I had to refuse the shipment.

Ya I just found that link about a week ago and they seem to have a great selection ... same prices I paid for my box of dead ones. Apparently my replacement is on its way ... after that I plan on using the other supplier!!! :p

Ya, they are good. I emailed them once asking if they had any egg crates I could buy and they gave me 40 of them for like 5 bucks. Awesome peeps!!

GREAT!!! :D After my first online cricket supplier I was a little hesitant about trying again but I emailed them awhile ago with a few questions and they seemed extremely helpful. I love that they have multipule sizes of crickets available, the other place only has 1000 and I don't go through that many yet so I'm sure most will be wasted. I'm even tempted to try a small order of silk worm eggs later on and see how that pans out. You guys ever try those?

I couldn't even manage to keep adult silkworms alive when I purchased them. They are so nitpicky.. I think its because I love to touch my feeders, and you aren't suppose to touch silkworms. :p

Yeah I hear the same was going to breed them but they are supposed to be hard to keep alive let alone breed so i Just have the roaches and order phoenix worms

Pheonix worms are anothing thing I've looked for and can't find here. None of the pet stores carry them, most looked at me with a blank stare and asked what I was talking about. The Canadian Feeders site doesn't have them either I've checked. The one specality reptile feeder shop we have said they were basically just maggots and not very popular in Ontario so no one carries them but I've read about them all over this forum and on other sites. They also told me that the roaches are not exactly legal for us to have either and apparently a lot of reptiles expos try to pass them off as beetles lol Not sure how true that is, I'm going to a huge reptile expo in Toronto in Sept so maybe I can find some suppliers there for pheonix worms.

I believe there is only one supplier for Phoenix Worms total in the industry. It is possible to breed them though, you just need lots of black soldier flies and mushy food I believe. Look it up, lots of people breed them to use to fish.

There are two suppliers online one in Ontario

http://www.recorp.ca/index.html Ontario
http://www.bugsorder.ca/

I order from recorp all the time I have a shipment of 30 tubs on the way here. I sell them to a few people to save my shipping costs.

I checked out the http://www.recorp.ca/index.html site and was surprised to see they actually sell pheonix worms but when I was going to send them a msg to inq about pricing and shipping I saw at the bottom of the page that they require a minimum order of $100 CND plus shipping and said they have no warranty on shipping *gasp* The second address was not found.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
