Hey if anyone here has tried their luck at breeding crickets, how long have your eggs taken to hatch. Mine our going on week 2 now on heat and haven’t really seen much change. Soil is kept moist and is heated by a heat pad. Wish they would just hatch already!

It takes 11-14 days at 91 degrees. If you use a heat pad make sure you don't burn them. Also, if it dries out they eggs die. Soil could have contaminates as well.

Okay thanks. Yeah the pad burning them isn’t an option at this point cas it’s on the outside of the box so it keeps it pretty on point as far as temp inside. But I’m thinking possibly the soil. I used soil made for reptiles though. It’s soil for rainforest type animals. I figured if it was safe for reptile it’ll be fine for little ol crickets. Who knows. I’m gonna be patient I’ve heard stories where ppl give up and go to clean out the box and they’ve hatched. Thanks for the info!

They seem to take FOREVER!!!!!! I know mine seemed like it was a month and I was about to throw them out when I noticed teeny tiny little crickets in there! I am getting ready to put another bunch in the "incubator" (small aquarium with light) and see how they do again but I get sick of waiting for them!!!! lol! But then again its worth it to not have to (eventually) buy crickets!

yeah that is what I use, be careful though once it dries out it is horrible to get wet again unless you pour the water in there! I had to rewet mine a while back to get it finally wet enough!

Haha alright thanks. Hopefully they decide to come into the big world soon! Would be nice to save some cash on those things.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
