Crested Gecko or Tokay?

Well I don't have much experience with cresteds because I just got mine a week ago, but I have them in Planted Vivs and the plants need a uv light. I use a 0.2 uv bulb that is only 13watts for 12 hours and the bottom of my tank usually is 73 and the top has never gone above 77.

I also keep Jasper the crestie on a light cycle of a daylight uv blub for the plants and 12 hours later the lights go off via timer. Within 30 minutes of the lights going off, he is out and about, even with a bit of evening window light coming in. They are neat, easy to care for pets

I strongly urge feeding the powdered Repashy crested gecko diet with the occasional cricket just as a treat.

I've only had mine for just over 2 months (Noodles) he's 4.2 grams as of a week ago. But I've been researching them for about a year. They definitely are not very handleable, especially as babies. When they're adults they are apparently easier to hold, but I've never heard of one wanting to get out of the tank or anything... If you'd rather have a Tokay but are thinking Crestie because they're handleable, consider the fact that, while Cresties aren't typically aggressive, they'd still rather be left alone.

Mine (Jasper) is really attentive when the lights go off, frequently coming to the front of the tank to see what everyone is doing. He will tolerate handling, but obviously doesn't love it. I simply enjoy watching him do what he does, crawl around, eat his CGD (as my wife calls his "gruel") and check us out checking him out lol.

Tokays are mean! Like really mean, over the 100 I have meet, I have not meet a nice one

Ive never meet a mean Crested though. They are so sweet, mine use to ride around on my shirt with me while I cleaned.

I TOTALLY agree. There arent too many that are nice ,, some but rare. I wouldn't own one ever. No offense to people who love them , I'm just not into screaming and aggressive reptiles , freaks me out.
