crazy nails

My new rescue has some very long nails. I suppose they could be worse, but given the fact that he's special needs, I want to eliminate any issues that I can, so I can make what life he has left, a comfortable one.
I have already cut the very tips of them just so they aren't pointy, but I'd like to get them much shorter. I would assume he has a "quick" like most animals that have nails. But I can't see it!! Any tips? Im also putting a picture so you can see his crazy nails!!!

Aw, that is a very sad looking dragon! You're right, there is a quick in their nail, like other animals. In an immunosuppressed animal like that, it's better to be safe than sorry too. The long nails are probably quite annoying, but not life threatening, so I'd say leave them alone. Cutting the quick can lead to infections and further issues, so it's not worth it. Believe it or not they can get much worse. For now, give it lots of rough stuff to climb on. Rocks, branches, etc are good. It will enrich the environment spatially and wear down the nails naturally. I'd suggest ditching the paper towels and putting a rough slate or rock substrate.

The paper towels are only temporary. Had to wait until this weekend to get everything else I needed. He was dropped on me only a few days ago. Thanks for the help!
