crazy morning

well i finally broke down and bought another beardie. i ordered her from a1 reptiles about a week ago, but wasn't going to be around until today to have her delivered. i was worried about having her shipped to wisconsin in january but i was assured she would be fine, that they had heat packs and insulated containers. the temps in wisconsin have been above 0 for at least a week now, and wouldn't you know it the day my beardie gets shipped we get a snow storm and the temp drops to -12. so i waited around all morning, and of course the ups guy came while i was downstairs, and by the time i had come upstairs they had set her on the steps and left. way to go ups man. i quickly ran into the back room and realized i hadn't turned on the lights after changing the bulb, so i did that quick then unwrapped my beardie. i was a little worried when the farther into the box i got the colder it got. i finally found the pouch my dragon was in, i pulled her out and she was cold and not moving. i had a mini panic attack because her cage was only 70 at this point and she wasn't gonna warm up very fast in there, so i ran and put her in the sink. after about 5 mins she started coming around, so i stuck her in her cage and she is currently basking and running around doing dragonly things. i called the breeder and apparently that is exactly what is supposed to happen, the heat packs only work overnight and then they get cold and go into a deep sleep kind of thing. would have been nice to get the heads up on that. so my mini panic attack was all for nothing. oh well i now have 2 beautiful bearded dragons, and i will post pics as soon as i can figure out where i left my camera.

wow that is scarey, i weould have freaked out also, glad she is ok tho, gl with both your bd's im having a little trouble with mine but not to much, is buying bd's in the mail a good thing? i think it would be kinda dangerous, since shipping comps dont give 2 cents about your order

i didn't have any problems with xander at all, i got him in the summer tho. after this morning i would definatly have to suggest shipping in warm weather tho . the only reason i got them through the mail is cuz i can't find anything with color in a reasonable driving distance from where i live, otherwise i'd but one locally.

and now for her grand entrance, i think her name is going to be Evey... not 100% on that yet tho.

Holy cow, your bd looks alomst identical to mine, how long is it, mine is about 7 inches, looks good i love the way they look with all them orange, my next bd will def be bought from a breeder on here im sure

she's around 7 1/2- 8 ins. shes like 3 months old. i haven't measured her yet cuz she's a little skitish, and i want her to calm down a bit and get used to her new home 1st.

Ya i think mine is about that same size, im not sure mine may be 3 or 4 months, i love the way they look with the orange

yeah me too. i wanted either a red or orange origionally, but at the time i had alot lower price range, so i got xander who is beautious, but i really wanted a red/orange. and now i have one.

I looked at my spike 2day, our bd's look almost the same but mine has like grey or a very very light blue on the center of his back, its pretty cool lookin
