Crazy Beardie! (HELP!!!)

I've already tried the behavior forum but nobody knows what's going on! I brought home this little geode cave for Stink a few months ago and for some reason it drives him nuts  No one I've spoken to has seen this behavior before. He'll black-beard, bob at it, scratch at it, lick it, bite it, and then run off just to come back and do it all over again. There's a video down below, pardon his appearance, he'd been off his food because of some worms (we've since dewormed him and are in the process of nurturing him.) We usually keep it out of the tank because this behavior goes on for hours  Have any of you experienced this with your scaly babies before?

EDIT: I've considered that it could be sexual frustration because he knows we keep a little girl beardie too that we won't let him have  I'd have no idea what it could be otherwise.

Very interesting, although I have to admit I have no Idea as to why he is acting this way :? I would think if he does this for hours on end who would be quite exhausted by the end of the day!

I posted to your vid so others can learn that dont come here. The stone may need to be leeched to get minerals or animal scent/taste from the surface. pour some vinegar on the side o fthe stone, if it fizzes up hes after the minerals in it. Many geodes have high calcium and mineral deposits in them. A good warm water with vinegar soak should leech the minerals out on the surface enough to stop the behavior. if its not minerals it may actually have the scent or taste of another lizard or animal on it. same soaking method 3 hours with vinegar water 4 with clean water (change it after 2) and then sun it. This is if you havent already gotten rid of it or found this info out.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
