Hi there,
We recently answered a craigslist add for a free HEALTHY bearded dragon. We've got 2(human) boys 5, 4 & a little girl 2. We were extremely excited. Anyways before picking her up I did some research on what not to get. When I saw the poor girl I had to get her anyways. She had no energy, floppy arms & legs, very skinny. The guy told me she was burmating. I did research & perhaps she was trying to. She was so thin though. Plus I knew something was wrong because she was so floppy. Anyways since Thursday night (Dec 30) we've got her calcium powder, crickets, super worms, new lighting. My husband has been the best sport with all of this Since he has to help with hanging things Anyways, I've been syringe feeding her veggies, mixed with chicken broth & her calcium suppliment. We grow most of our own food & can & freeze things. So I had to use the broth instead of baby food. I ageed with my husband I wouldn't buy anything extra. She gets 3 warm bathes a day & has been having bms. So I think we are on the right track. I HOPE!!! We are already attached. Has anyone ever had a BD fully recover? If this experience turns out positive it makes me want to rescue these little guys. We'll be having our green house together for this growing season so I'll be able to grow the veggies for them. It amazes me how people can let them or any creature be so neglected Also this website has been a huge help!! Thanks so much
Here she is after 6 days.
