I just finished this 4x2x2 crossfire viv. my beardie is almost 4 months, still not sure the sex

my temps are 114 basking and anywhere from 85-100 in other places in the viv depending ( using the accurite thermometer) are those temps too hot?

reptisun 10.0, 90W halogen flood light, standard white house bulb for light.

It is ok to use a rock for a basking spot? ive heard both yes and no because of hot spots. i bleached, dishwashed, then baked in the oven to get it free from bacteria.

any other input would be appreciated, starting to get the hang of it but still pretty new

Rocks are okay for basking spots, just be careful as darker rocks tend to hold heat and get much hotter than lighter color ones. Test rock temp before placing beardie in cage as if he hops on a hot rock, he wont know and it will end up burning his belly.

114 is a bit hot, try to kick it down a few degrees to 105-110.

Alos, is that basking ramp easily removable for cleaning? Because full tank cleanup is a must for controlling parasites. And if he just so happens to crap on that, it will be a bit difficult to clean while its in the tank.

Otherwise, nice viv.

For a 4 month old dragon, your basking spot (the exact spot that your dragon chills) should be 105-110 max. The hot side should be around 95, and the cool side should be no warmer than 82. This is important so that your beardie can thermoregulate correctly to digest food. :)

i didnt even think about the ramp being removable for cleaning, it can come off but it will not be easy, ill just pray he doesnt poop on it.

im still trying to mess with the temps to get them just right, i wanted a 75w but they had a 50w and a 90w so i went with the 90w, we keep our house at 64 degrees so i figured i would need it but this viv holds heat much better than his first. he does seem quite happy with the new viv tho

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
