As of lately the tank's humidity is almost 40%. I run a fan in my room all day and night and I don't keep a water bowl in her tank anymore. I spray her down with water ever day and let her drink from the bottle. The humidity stays at above 30% or in the 40s. The tempature is normal. My beardie hasn't been getting a lot of sleep and I don't know why. The lights are on for only 12 hours. This morning after I got breakfast (light had been on for 30 minutes) I came upstairs, two of her plants knocked over, and her mirror was too, and she was is one of her hide. Later she bobbed her head at me once (very out of character, she's very friendly to her reflection and others) shortly after she flared her beard, but when I came near her tank she stopped. When I was laying on my bed she ran to the said of the tank so she could be as close to me has possible, once I took her out she ran away from me. Now she's climbed to the highest point in her tank and keeps opening her mouth. When ever she does do that I try to pet her and she moves her head away from me (she doesn't normally do that). When shes out of her tank she doesnt move away from me trying to pet her.she's a baby who's shedding right now if that helps. Could the humidity making her act like this or gotten her sick?

I don't know her age, I got her from a Petsmart and they didn't know anything about how old they were or gene line. She's almost 12 inches (11 3/4) I've personal had her for 4 months. She eats crickets, papaya, broccoli, cauliflower, and pellets. She has a desert UVA (17 watt) 100 watt basking bulb, and normally a heating mat, but i t Burt out today. At night I have 75 watt heat bulb/ night time viewing bulb. I use news paper for "bedding", 3 hides, 4 plastic plants, a bird mirror, a climbing branch, and a rock to bask under the UVA (not her normal basking spot. I dust her food everyday with vitimans and calcium.

She just got done shedding today, she ate most of the skin. I was just holding her and one of her front toes is red, not swollen, just red.

The reason your beardie is not sleeping at night is because they need complete darkness to sleep and a cool down period. If your house gets below 65 then a ceremic heat emitter is needed. Do you have a uvb light? She needs one so she does not develop metobolic bone disease. Her diet needs to be better beautifuldragons.com is a good web site that list the good veggies. Heating mats are not good either as they can malfunction and burn her. I would not mist her in the tank. You can spay her snout and have her drink that way or you can give her a bath. What are the temps and how do you take them?

I do have a UVB light going across the top. The night time light is infrared spot bulb, I was told that she can't see it, but humans can. Thank you for the website, I try new fruits and veggies every week to see what she likes best (strawberries are so far her favorite) I don't mist her while shes inside her tank for the humidity reasons. The basking lamp gives off heat during the day. I use a digital themoitor with a prob, its 103.4 in the basking spot, 96 on the rest of the warm side, and 85.3 on the cool side. The humidity gage is not digital tho

Beardies can see that light at night. Pet stores are notorious for giving the wrong information. Try for your self and see the difference. I have 3 and they have never had a light at night. Glad she has uvb. What kind is it? Your temps sound good. She might be entering puberty that's why she's acting crazing.

Her UVB is 17 watt All living Things brand desert bulb. Its a tube one that grows across the top. Thank you, she's my first beardie so any little thing that happens I freak out and am afraid she's hurt and/or sick

Hi there....Destiny gave you some good advice about getting red of the red light, it absolutely can be seen by beardies and disrupt their sleep. I don't think your dragon is sick, as a matter of fact she has plenty of energy to tear up her tank. :) But seriously, some dragons get cranky + jumpy when they shed....even puffing her beard could have been to loosen the skin, and all her running around knocking thongs over could be from her trying to dislodge the skin. I'm not sure about the " All living things" brand of UVB light, do you know Destiny if it's rated good for UVB output ? Tracie [ username Drache613] probably knows.

If you are in the U.K, the best UVB is the Arcadia 12%. I don't think your dragon is sick, but a few light adjustments will be beneficial in the long run,

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
