Cost for vet visit?

I need to take my beardie in to the vets office. He has a bump on his head that feels to be filled with fluid and needs to be drained. I found a herp vet right here in town, how much should I expect to pay for that? I dont have pet insurance so I need to be able to pay for it out of my own pocket.

It really depends on where you are. Vet costs vary quite a bit by location. My vet charges about $33 for a visit plus any test costs (which are usually pretty reasonable). I've been told that's low though. Most vets I know of will work with you to set up a payment plan if you have a big bill and need to break it down into chunks. They're usually good about working with you on billing issues if needed. You can call ahead to request visit charges and the cost of some basic diagnostic fees for that specific vet.

Cool thanks. I just called to make an appt. Exam will be 49 .... I was looking for a herp vet forever! I joined a southern california reptile keeper group on facebook and someone told me about a vet right here in my own town... The bump has not gotten any bigger and has not affected my beardies behavior in any way at all, so hopefully its just a pimple ...

That sounds like a pretty reasonable price for an exam. Hopefully they are able to get it sorted out quickly for you. Having a local vet experienced with dragons is extremely valuable/helpful.
