Correct Ratio for Female to Male dubias?

I recently cleaned out my bin and counted 60 males and 180 females. That's a 3:1 ratio. But I have read elsewhere that it should be more like 4:1 or 5:1.

Can anyone give me any advice or reasoning on what's a good ratio? And if my 3:1 ratio is not ideal, then why not?

I believe it is a 5:1 ration (5female to 1male). This is because you can achieve the best turn around. Colony will produce fast. :wink:

I have heard 5:1 up to 10:1 ratio for larger colonies. I don't have first had experience with this at the moment. My colony is probably around 5:1 at the moment

Have been doing a lot of research on this for the past 2 days... from what I read the ratio is 5:1 to stop the males from fighting - they need 5 women each to keep them happy :lol:
