I don't know what is going on in my mind lately, but I am obsessing about Iguanas! That is, in addition to Beardies. :D

Anyway, I thought I'd share these awesome pics I took a few years ago while visiting Puerto Rico. We took a boat ride to one of their national parks, which is called Mata La Gata Island, and on our way there, we came across an Iguana sanctuary! We got to ride up right next to the docks and check them out up close. They were HUGE and so cool that I wanted to stay there all day and watch them.

*PLEASE NOTE that I am not the one who threw cheese doodles at them to eat, though they didn't seem to mind the snack!*

I would like to go somewhere and see them running wild like that how cool

It was such a wonderful surprise to just happen across them like that; I was overjoyed! Then I got sad when the boat started pulling away, but I got to see them again on the way back.
I always love to see animals in a natural setting. I'm a big fan of the "Planet Earth" series on Animal Planet and the Discovery Channel.

Anyway, to whomever would like, please feel free to post your Iguana pics here!

They have been running a series on Discovery channel that is called Wild Pacific and is by BBC. If you like the other nature shows, you have to watch WIld Pacific. You can buy the DVD if you search for it. The series has one particular show on strange wildlife of the Pacific islands and features a creature called a Tuatara. It almost looks like a Water dragon a little and it can supposedly live up to 100 years. They only get about 2 feet long and actually like cooler weather. They are actual living relatives to the dinosaurs.

Pretty cool series! Love the Iguana Pictures!

You know Mata la Gata in spanish means to kill the cat.I was thinking of getting a red iguana a long time ago.But instead i got my beardies which i dont regret.

Thanks for the recommendation - I'll look for it and put it on the ole' Netflix Queue if necessary.

The Tuatara sounds cool and I want to see it!

Yeah, I know - creepy, right? I don't remember why that's the islands' name. I did ask, but this was like 6 years ago - I don't even remember what I had for lunch yesterday. :p

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
