Constant digging!!! What to do?

Fury is 2.5 yrs old. Lately she has been ripping all through her tank tearing apart everything trying to get out during the day while we are not at home. We get her out when we get home and she immediately poops. Today we got her out and she has been walking around our floor constantly digging. She has never done this before. She will not stop digging! Is this something we should do for her? She is on all tile in her tank. How do we know if she has eggs? I do not feel any lumps in her belly.

Hi there....she may be have developed infertile eggs, you can't always feel them. If you go to the breeding discussion forum, there is a thread near the top all about egg laying. There are instructions for making a lay box [ it's easy ], and you should probably do that right away. They need to have what they consider to be a safe place to lay.

She has laid 2 eggs!!!!! HOLY CRAP! She is in a bin with sand. Didn't dig tunnel but laid after being in there about 10mins. I think she may have laid an egg about a week ago that I thought was a large urate? Is that possible?? Can she lay eggs a week apart? Will she lay them all tonight? Should we leave her in the bin and put heat on her overnight or put her in her viv? The sand is cold How many eggs an we expect?

You can put a heal lamp over the bin if it's cold in there. Leave her in until about 11:00 if your'e in the Eastern time zone in the U.S . If nothing else happens by then and she's just sitting, put her back in her viv. In the a.m. let her heat up at least an hour or so, then put her back in the lay box. It's impossible to say how many she'll lay.....anywhere from 15 -30 or more is average.

Considering use her CHE on the end away from her so we don't make it too hot in there!

With this stringy thing at the end of her last egg, is it possible that indicates the last egg? Can they lay eggs over several days?

Also, can I take out these eggs now or wait it out?

You're welcome . Yes, the heat lamp or the CHE will work. You can leave the eggs while she's in there, it might disturb her if you put your hands in but toss them when you take her out for the night. And they sometimes expel a stringy thing with the eggs, it doesn't have anything to do with the order of eggs she's laying.

I can't tell you how appreciative we are having you reply to our questions! This has been a whole family experience tonight! She hasn't moved in over an hour. Maybe she is done for the night. I will wait to take her out till 11pm tho.

One more question, so she may end up having more eggs tomorrow as well?

Yes, she might. Be sure to offer a little water on her snout for a drink and a 10 minute warm bath [ then pat her dry ] and after warming up for a bit put her back in.
