Coming out of surgery--This mom needs support

She was up this morning to hang out under her heat lamp, then went back to bed. She hasn't touched her greens (surgery was Monday), but did eat 4 crickets yesterday (happily). I know her appetite was a little off after surgery to remove the abscess, so I am assuming that she is kinda doing the same thing.

We gave her a shot last night and I felt so bad. I told my husband "I cry because I'm pregnant and my hormones are everywhere and I feel so bad......do I snuggle her!? Should I snuggle her? What if she is hurting?" and he said, "she's fine, just recovering, don't snuggle her right now because she probably doesn't want anything to do with you." :shock:

I would just like to fast-forward 3 months to have her on no shots, eating, and telling people off. Then I know she's ok.

Can you tell I'm a worrier? I do love me little family members.

Aw, poor little girl....how did she take the shot and how long will she be given them ? I know that Metacam can also be given orally . And maybe tell your hubby that YOU need a snuggle.

I'm glad to see she is doing well. They can bounce back from quite a lot given proper care. The teaching hospital you brought her to is a very good one so that's encouraging too. It's a good sign that she is eating, even if just a little bit!
