Color

My beardie seems to be a lot darker than the pictures of other beardies I see online. I know they can darken to absorb more heat but his pen is at 96 degrees and probably a little warmer where he basks. Is color any indication of health at all or is it maybe because he is still less than a year old?

Hi Lou, your beardie looks perfectly healthy. They can darken as they head toward a shed, or it could be natural color and sometimes darken if the temps. are too low.... but if it's 100 F in the basking spot it should be fine. You might want to bump it up to 105 at the most as long as you have a reliable way to take the temp.
