Well my suggestion would be to call around. You can find one or even two herp clinics (in your area, or not it doesn't really matter) and ask to speak to a specialist. If they're busy with clients (probable) leave them your name and phone number with a request to get back to you. Have a list of question ready to ask them, and make sure that they are consenting to you using them as a source for your paper.
I would also call and talk to a few reputable breeders- people who you know give their dragons proper care- and pose the same questions to them (again, with thier consent to use them as sources).
You can also get in touch with the reptile co-ordinators of a few zoos, or reptile rescue groups. I'd even look into some of the programs that do informative presentations in schools and such.
Your personal experience can be an added opinion to your paper, though I wouldn't use yourself as a direct source..More as a comparitive.
Anyways, that's what I would do, and have done in similar school papers, though mine were mostly research based. Are you presenting the negative view as well in your argument?
