coil bulbs safe for heating?

Let us know how you make out with the new tank. What are you using in the meantime for the bulbs for the 10 gallon?

I had a 75w bulb, and it got too hot, like in the 150's.

Tried a 25w bulb, and didn't even break 100

Using a 50w now and temps are almost perfect. The basking area I thought he'd use hits 110ish, but the spot he chose hits around 98.

He seems fine with it because I see him gaping often to regulate.

Hopefully I'll have his new home furnished at the beginning of the month.
