Cloudy bearded dragon eye

I recently got a rescued bearded dragon and I just noticed her left eye is cloudy, we took her to the vets last week although it wasn’t cloudy then, issues unrelated.
Before it was cloudy it looked like a piece of her shed was caught in it, I’m wondering if that didn’t scratch it?

It looks swollen- what are you using for substrate? What are you using for a UVB coils can cause eye issues-- what are you feeding for insects? Specifically crickets? They bite and can cause infection-

She’s on paper towels flat on her tank, she has a T8 UVB bulb, and due to her condition she can only eat baby food and blended greens with crickets

Your T 8 is inside the tank w/ no plastic cover over the bulb and is approx 6-8 inches from basking decor? It could be shed but I wanted to rule out other possible factors- you can take some saline solution no contact lenses cleaner regular saline and wash her eye out - see if that helps - do that a couple of times and see what the eye does- keep us posted

Update on her eye: we’re on day 4 of the eye drops and she’s been keeping her eye open a lot more since then and it’s still cloudy, but a lot less than it was

Ok I want traciedrache613 and ahbd to look and see what they think- if its a scratch it may a good week for it to heal up but I am gonna have a couple of others on here look

It looks like the drops are helping your big girl, that's good and hopefully it will do the trick.

Hello,

I agree, she probably scratched it with the shedding & it got irritated. Or, sometimes they
can get bacterial infections in the eye from retained shed, also. It does look better so the
drops are definitely helping her out.
Which eye drops are you using, sterile saline solution or an antibiotic eye ointment/drop?
