Climbing ability

Hi!
I have two beardies who are currently housed in a large aviary. I would like to transfer them to a different enclosure which is surrounded by a 6 foot painted block wall, a 4 foot cinderblock wall (no holes) and two outside walls of my house. This enclosure is uncovered and currently houses my box turtles as well. Will my beardies be able to scale the wall and escape? Can they cohabit with the box turtles?

Hi there, I'm not sure that they could climb out but it's best not to have them with the turtles since beardies like to taste everything they see and that includes poo that would be in the turtle enclosure. That would risk parasitic transmission. They might not be able to climb out but being in an open top pen there would also be a danger of predators swooping or jumping in after the beardies. Do you have pics of the aviary and also the turtle pen ? I'd like to see them if you can post them.

Sorry I didn't get back sooner ! So wow, the turtle enclosure is awesome with all that space for your slow moving gang. How many turtles do you have and long have you had them ? The aviary would work better if it could be turned on it's side but you could also reconstruct it to be more of a regular cage structure like this one I have for my boy.

I have about 15 box turtles. I've had box turtles all my life, on and off. They're really cool.

I love your enclosure! I intend to build a new enclosure at some point. This aviary won't work on its side because the floor doesn't have much integrity.
