Clear Nails

I'm just wondering what exactly does having clear nails mean? My new baby (Pachinko in my sig) has them. She's apparantly a "Tequila Sunrise" beardie. :roll: xD Been trying to figure out who her parents were though so I really know what she is.

i don think ive ever heard of a tequila sunrise dragon, but clear nails means shes a hypo.

Yeah I've never heard of a tequila dragon either xD But what exactly does hypo mean? Like, I've seen hypos everywhere online but I don't get exactly what a hypo is, or like, what 100% or 66% het for hypo means or any of that. Thanks

edit: What kind of dragon is that in your photo? Pachinko has pretty much the same exact coloring. I know that theres no guarantee that's what she is, but hey, why not ask. xP

Hypo is short for hypomelanistic. Hypomelanism causes a decrease in pigmintation, generally speaking.

The percentages for het hypo all depend on the parents. It usually means that an individual might carry the hypomelanism gene, and the number given is the chance that they carry it. So, 66% het hypo means that there's a 2/3rds chace that your beardie will produce offspring that are hypo.

My baby has all clear nails
