Cleaning a dubia bin

How does one clean a dubia bin? Do I need to take all the roaches out? If so, what do I do with them while I am cleaning? My bin is in need of a cleaning, and I'm not sure how to do so with the roaches in there.

Also, my sister in law and I are considering starting a colony together. Any tips or pinters?

As far as cleaning goes, I've seen a really good idea for it in my research. I'm starting a colony soon as well. Plug up the bathtub, cover it with something heavy that covers the entire hole and pour the roaches in there whilst you clean the bin. Then just clean it, clear out any poop or dead roaches and change out your egg crates. Make sure you replace food and water crystals every day. You can find roach chow and water crystals online for pretty cheap, and I think you could also just put in things like carrots, tropical fruits (mangos and papayas), apples, avocados, banana, cherries, pears, oranges, strawberries, fresh corn, tomatoes (some individuals show no interest in tomatoes while others eat readily), and lettuce (not iceberg or romaine).

It gives me an idea to keep the tub in the wood so I have less escapees in the house hopefully.
