choosing a baby bearded dragon

Hey everybody! I am new to the forum but I am not new to bearded dragons at all. My friend decided to give me first pick from his new "clutch" if I gave him one of my stands. Well I gave him the stand and now I get first pick but I dont know how to pick a "good" baby beardie and I wanted to know if anyone could give me advice. Anything would be appreciated

IMHO, I would choose a baby that is bright, alert and responsive. Make sure that his/her eyes stay open and look clear. Check the limbs and tail for nips or deformities. You should stay away from the smallest of the clutch. After those considerations, just choose the one that stands out in color and or personality. Hopefully, they will be of the age that you or your friend can assess their sex in case you have a preference about that.

Actually, most experienced breeders can sex their dragons with great accuracy (i.e. over 90 percent) by the time they are 6-9 weeks of age using external features around the vent area.

Alright im going to have to look into finding those features. Its not a big deal though. I dont care what sex it is although i would prefer a male. Thanks for all the help everyone!
