Chino's Photo Diary (NEW PICS!)

My first dragon is finally here! His name is Chino, short for Mochachino, because he's pretty hyperactive and he has some dark coffee bean brown patches on his back. He also has bright red striping behind his ears and coffee brown streaking behind his eyes. He is two months old today and roughly 7 inches long. His daddy was a lemon-citrus and his mommy was a red flame-foxfire red-red tiger-cawley red. He's very pastel right now but after seeing his parents I'm sure his color will develope well. I'm calling it a he because from what I can tell now he seems to have male organs, but he is still very young. If he turns out to be a she, her name will be China (Cheena).
I don't think he knows what to think of me yet. He's been with me for a little over a day now, so he's been here overnight. I got him out this morning because I knew he would be cold and I could heat him up just by holding him. He seemed to really enjoy it, but kept looking at me as if I might eat him. Last night, when I put him back in his tank, left the room and came back, he had his belly up against the glass and he was looking at me like he wanted back out.
He's already demolished a bunch of small crickets, a couple tidbits of collards, and a tiny piece of a carrot and pooped a coulple of times. Fortunately, he hasn't gone in my hand... yet. I gave Chino a bath yesterday, too, but he didn't seem to enjoy it much. I did get him to drink some by dripping it on his nose while he was in it.
Here's Chino's first night home. My boyfriend is holding the little guy in his huge hand.

Here he is in his home on top of the penthouse. Chino terrified his new mommy by running around on the background. >.< I was afraid he'd fall so I took it out. Here's before and after. And yes, I made the background and penthouse myself, which was an experience in and of itself.

lol, trust me, give a beardie a chance to scamper across a narrow space with a huge drop below them, most of the time they'll take it. He's a cutie!

Thanks! This morning I caught him sitting funny on one of his seashells and got a pic, so I'll post that later.

So yesterday Chino pooped on his new mommy for the first time. Yay! I wasn't too phased except for the fact that this particular poop seemed to have been extra large for the occasion. Haha! It was like he planned it. Also yesterday he escaped my boyfriend, who was helping me move him from his feeding area. I caught him just before he had the chance to make it under the refridgerator. He got his second bath today, and this time my mom wanted to watch. I've been doing it on the floor with a shallow dish of water. He managed to leap out of it and onto my mom. She, of course, proceeded to freak out. I grabbed him off of her just before she took off. So Chino is in time out from contact with other people. Haha!

Chino is finally getting the hang of his beard! XD It's so funny. My cat decided to introduce herself the other day when I had him out. The first thing he did was flare his little beard, open his mouth, and give her a tiny hiss. Oreo(cat) quickly turned and ran away after that. Chino looked so pround of himself too. He looked up at me like, "Yeah! Check that out! Did you see that!?" Hahaha! :D

Chino is a real sweetie, and I really like his name and his tank. :laughing6: What could be better than beardies and coffee? That platform (penthouse) with the sweeping staircase is wonderful for him, and you say you made it yourself? :notworthy: Do you have a pattern for it? Eventually, i will be replacing some tanks and furniture, and I like that design! It looks like little Chino's off to a great start with you. :love5:

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
