Cheeky Basker!!!

Draco can be such a cheeky lil' basker!

We have set up his new home, he was dark underneath when he went in, but within fifteen minutes was his usual white underneath and feeding well :D

We spent a LONG time setting up the basking spot, using a dimmer thermo etc... to make sure the piece of wood had a gradient between 100-110c for his basking. There was also a nice large piece of cork bark below it (he liked the smaller one in his old smaller viv).
Unfortunately, he seemed (last night and today) to be trying to bask on the bark, which was too low for the correct temp needed and uvb. So.... we messed around whilst he was out for another fifteen mins this evening to re-work the set up so he could bask on the bark, and then we put him back in and what did he do.... moved straight to the original piece of wood (which we managed to keep in the same place to give him an option) and began to bask on it in the exact place we thought he originally would - then looked at us as if to say 'what?' lol

We've left the second setup so he has more choice, but grrrr.... he's cheeky alright! What a lil' monster lol

unfortunately (and fortunately) we're not raising robots. :) They do what they darn well please it would seem. Luckily, you've found a way to let him do what he darn well pleases, which ever of the two that would be, and make both choices good for him. That's the trick I guess. lol

Aint that the truth! I like that he has a choice in the end. It's scary him moving into his new house though.. it's so 'is this right, is that right, lets triple check that, lets move the temp probe there, then there, ooh and how about there even though he can't possibly reach that obscure place' lol...

He seems happy enough and that's the main thing, plus his cheekyness adds to his character I guess :D

i beardies always change there basking spot like a few days ago my beardie was basking on his drift wood then he started basking on his hide it all happened within 5 mins hes a cheeky lil basker 2!!!

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
