Cheapest place to get a replacement UVB?

We're using 18" Reptisun 10.0 for both of the boys, and they've been getting dark lately, I couldn't think of a reason other than the lighting, and realized it was time to change them. Our local store where we get our feeders doenst carry them, (18" at least) but can special order them.. problem is the price is about$25+. My dad has no problem online ordering though, when repticon doesn't have the size we need (the November show does, the May show doesn't) (they self them at half the In store prices)

Where do you usually order them from? The lowest I've seen them online is at Pet Mountain (http://www.petmountain.com/product/...42-504983/zoo-med-reptisun-10-0-uvb-bulb.html), but it's usually around 20-25 dollars (they're on sale right now for about $20, if that's any cheaper). I typically buy two of them (along with another small item) at a time to save on shipping (they usually have a deal going on or a coupon that gives you free shipping on purchases over $50 or so). I know it's not much of a difference, but I just thought I'd mention it since it's the lowest I've seen at least.

Also, you're probably already aware, but I'll just say it in case: the ReptiSun 10.0 UVB light should be replaced every six months. If it's been over six months since you last changed them, it's probably the lights.

Hopefully you can find somewhere cheaper, though.

We got ours at Repticon in Pensacola from a vendor who's name I cannot for the life of me remember. And we looked back in May, and they had sold 18" the day before... Dad said he'd check online, since we had put them in the 2nd week ofDecember, so had another month.

I just realized he never checked... I found the pet mountain site, and he acted like it was expensive -.-'

I think the most we paid at repticon for the lights were $20/ea he thinks the lights are fine (yet mentions how dark both the boys have been the past month, when the bulbs were supposed to be replaced) and wants to buy a UV meter. That's fine and dandy, but those bulbs need replacing ASAP. I told my parents that a week ago, and have been taking the boys out for about 2 hours a day on sunny days, and letting them take turns baskig with the windows open(with screens in.) Which is difficult since Uther "owns" the living room.

Yeah, it's probably best to get a replacement bulb soon. You just might have to get one online. And from my own research (I try to get the best deal from the most reliable source too), I think Pet Mountain is the cheapest price at the moment. Maybe you can get one online for now, and then stock up on a few when you find a few in-person that are cheaper.

Otherwise, the bulbs you have now should still be putting out some UVB, so at least it's better than nothing. And I know that bearded dragons at least will be alright without a UVB source at all for about a week (though not recommended if you have any other option). So it's good that your lights aren't too old, and that you're taking them out for natural sunlight whenever you get the chance.

Just hope you can find some soon for a reasonable price.

Me too... if all else fails, I'll tell my fiancè about it, and he can order Uther a new bulb... but then Spike is left out.... And when we got our first bulbs, they only had 2 in the size we need.

And Spike makes it hard for outside basking, he prefers to eat (or try to) everything he sees...
