Cheap UVB Holder Idea

I was told to ditch the screen because it blocks UVB, and happened to have these brackets in the house. They're sold for hanging curtains and cost about $2.00. The U shaped part fits snugly over the side of the tank, and the screw and slide can be adjusted and tightened to wherever you need it. I pushed down on it, and it seems to be pretty secure.

It looks like this when it's attached.

This solved the problem of using a 24" aquarium bulb holder on a 36" long tank. I just thought I'd share this idea.

Awesome idea!
I'm currently using snipped/bent coat hangers to hang the UVB inside my big guy's viv because I didn't want to pay 8.50 apiece + shipping for expensive hanging brackets and it looks, well, quite ghetto lol. :?
I'll definitely creep around the curtain section next time I'm somewhere like Target or Bed Bath & Beyond! Thanks! :D

+1 on Velcro. Go to the sewing section at Walmart and get the Wide Industrial strength Velcro. I also used it to mount my multi strip to the back of my Tank to keep things nice and neat

No, velcro would not work. I'm talking about mounting an aquarium fixture. Either the on/off button behind it or the electrical cord will get in the way if you try that, and I don't want to remove the on/off button, and obviously won't remove the cord. The light has to shine into the viv, not off in another direction. This was posted as a tip for others who have a fixture like it.

In addition, I put a gauge held with velcro in a viv once, and as it aged the corner of the velcro started coming off just a bit behind the gauge, but I didn't see it. The poor gecko got stuck to the velcro glue, and I had a hard time getting her free of it. She came close to losing a few toes. I won't put that stuff in a viv again.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
