need a few questions answers before i buy one.
is there a certain brand or could i just get one of those more off brand versions.
i have a big viv. if converted to gallon size its about 150-160 will a 60 watt suffice? i can put the light close enough to pretty much any point except the bottom of the viv. wich also leads me to my next questions, would it burn him if he was to touch it? im assuming not because it is made to be close but wanted to dbl check. is that somthing i need to wory about?

If you have a 150 to 160 gallon tank, then a 60 watt CHE wouldn't be enough. I use a 60 watt on a 40 breeder.

The CHE'S get VERY hot so you would not want to put it inside the tank but on top instead. It also takes a looong time for them to cool down in order to be able to touch them.

its not a tank and has alot of ventilation. its going inside but theres places out of his reach. if i put it on top it wouldnt do much and would be a waste of time. i cant put it on his basking spot and thats the only place raised to the top so he can bask. all im looking for is more of a spot where he can retreat if it does get to cold because the cold weather is coming. last year i had a small space heater heating most of the cage to about 70. he would sometimes goto the colder side at about 65 so i want to keep that option for him. is there a certain brand or would one of those cheap off bbrand ebay ones be fine.
