Chaos *6/29 Bath Pics*

I have no idea how many people will read/look at this, but after seeing how people use just 1 thread for all their beardie pics I decided to steal the idea and use it too. Seems to me life will be much easier.

I was going thru pics and I can't believe how much my little Chaos has grown and changed since I got him n May, he was 6ish weeks old then....

And just today....

He doesn't even look like the same beardie that I brought home. I had no idea when I bought him that he would grow so quiclky or change so drastically.

He has posed for numerous pictures since I brought him home. Some taken by me....

And some taken by my daughter....

He has endured numerous baths....

Lots of cuddles....

Took a boat trip....

Spent countless hours gazing out the windows....

He has even had to put himself to sleep a time or two....

He "cheered" on the Steelers with my husband (maybe they would have won if he stayed awake!)....

He even moved with us from NC to VA and spent the night in a hotel. (Shhh don't tell) Darn no pics of this one.....

I am so very greatful to have the opportunity to have this wonderful creature. I have learned so much about these guys in the last few months. I had no idea that he would become so much more than "just a lizard." I am looking forward to many many more pics, lessons, and cuddles. Who would have ever known what a big part of my life and my families life that this "little lizzard" would become.

That is one adventurous beardie! He is very handsome! I can't wait until my Aramis gets bigger... of course then I will miss my baby boy and want him to be little again. sigh... :lol:

Glad you all liked the pics. I love this forum. It is great to have somewhere to go to talk to people and get advice about beardies. People whose lives have not been touched by these complex animals have no way of understanding just how important they become to us. Heck, I'm still amazed by it!

A few months ago my husband and I built a crossfire viv for Chaos. I thought that we had it all right, but we didn't. Just when I think I've got it all figured out I stumble upon some new nugget of information. This is what it looked like.....Not the best pic, sorry

After digging around on here I learned that the MVB couldn't be on a slant, it shortens their lifespan. I also learned that Chaos was too close to the MVB. He was about 9 inches away from it and he should be 12 to 14 inches away (I think). The temps were too high as well. He was topping out at 115*! So, we moved the MVB up by cutting a hole in the top of the viv and gave him a new basking area where he can be anywhere from 11 to 14 inches away from his light. This has also brought the temps down to a much nicer 103*. I also changed out the natural slate tiles, they only went in one way, it was like a puzzle everytime I cleaned the viv! Talk about frustration! He now has pretty tiles that all fit together nicely. And I'm actually not embarrased to share a pic! Eventhough its another crappy one!

If anyone sees anything wrong or that needs a little tweeking please tell me.

So, I've been holding off on the announcement until today. With the help of a wonderful woman, Janie AKA zebraflavencs, I am getting another beardie. She hooked me up with Tom at TND Dragons. Today he is sending me a beautiful little girl. She will be here tomorrow. How will I ever make it to tomorrow? Tom has been great, answering all of my questions and putting up with my paraniod ramblings, Janie too. (THANKS GUYS!) So, without further delay here are the pics that Tom sent me of my new girl.....

She was hatched in April and is 9 inches long. She has a slight tail nip, but I could care less. I just can't wait to get her and love her and cuddle her like I do Chaos. I think it is going to be great to have 2 beardies in the house! So I'm off to find things to do to make today and tomorrow go by quickly. I have to set up her temporary viv and I need to get a tub ready for crix, the roaches stole the crix bin. I hate crix.... My roaches aren't well established yet, I can't even feed 1 dragon on them let alone 2! I think I've got a name picked out too but that will wait until I see her to be sure. And yes, there will be pictures. Tons and tons of them! OMG I am so super excited

Thanks Janie. Another light is easy! There is already a tube fixture on that side, all I need is a plain old flourescent tube right? I have a ReptiSun 10 there at one point I had it on too with the MVB, then read that it wasn't the best idea, so I just simply turned it off and left the fixture. Hubby will be glad since we need to start a whole new viv this weekend!

Congrats on getting another!!!! My kids and I have been begging for a few weeks now. Maybe after he finishes with the first viv he is working on... She is adorable! Can't wait to see pics when you get her!!!! :wink:

I can't wait to get her. There will be tons of pics. The camera is charging now, I want to be prepared. She should be at the UPS office now and will be on a plane about 8:30pm eastern time. I do have to say that the hubby isn't thrilled to make another viv, but it should be easier 2nd time around, right? Today is moving by pretty good so far, tomorrow is going to be the hard day I think. I still have to set up her temporary viv. I have saved that for tomorrow am or tonight when I can't sleep. I'm hoping that I have no more than 26 hours before she arrives....
