i've just been blessed with my second baby beardie, shes 14 weeks old and looks nice and healthy and alert.
my only concern is shes been raised on mealworm alone...nothing else, the guy was dusting well with vit and cal but she had no variety.
(by the way, yes, she does look like a balloon from the fatty mealworms haha).
as soon as she seen salad, she tucked in straight away, which was great but shes terrible with crickets. because shes used to eating the slow mealworms, shes not used to the faster moving crickets.
she does try to eat them when i put them in the viv but shes just a bit too slow.
i've started to put her in a small container and put a cricket in one at a time which slowly but surely seems to be working but can only seem to get her to eat a couple before she gets fed up of trying.

am i right to take her straight off the mealworm diet or should i wean her from it? i'm just worried shes not eating enough live food.
i'm also trying to get some silkworm to top up her live food. is this a good idea?

any advice is sooo much appreciated, thanks guys :)

I would put a cup of crickets in the fridge or freezer for a minute or so to slow them down a bit to even the playing field
Also i think your doing the right thing with the taking away of the mealworms.

i dont think mealworms are fatty but they are mostly a crunchy shells that can build up in their digestive system. glad you are taking her off of them, good luck!

Just a friendly FYI..A lot of places are not shipping due to the low temps overnight..( anything lower than 20 degrees and they won't ship)..it has been an issue here in the states, but may not be in the UK.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
