Changing "lights on" time?

Hello, all. I just joined the site. My name is Sara, and I got my handsome beardie Sam (10 months old) this past August. We live in NJ, USA.

I have a quick question, if anyone has some advice for me:
We are going to be changing our office hours from 7 AM - 3:30 PM to 9:00 - 5:30 PM this Monday. This will affect the feeding schedule I have with Sam, since I usually feed him his second meal around 5:00 PM. Will it affect him too much if I simply feed him an hour later than usual, or should I adjust the timing on his lights? I currently have his lights set up to go on at 7:00 AM and shut off at 9:00 PM. I was considering putting the lights on later to push everything back a little bit, but I also am wondering if he should have shorter light periods since we are approaching winter?

My main concern is avoiding any stress for my Sammy.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Welcome to the forum! The shift shouldn't cause a problem and I think he'll readjust pretty quickly. I'd keep the lights on 14hrs. You could cut it back to 12hrs during winter but it's not necessary. I've done that in the past and it doesn't seem to make a big difference. If he wants to sleep earlier he will either way.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
