changing lights, but questions?

So i had an all-in-one compact bulb which just blew out. now, i want to change it from that cuz everyone on here does not recommend the compacts. so im thinking of getting the Arcadia D3, not sure about the t8 or t5 yet. i know thats just the uvb. so now i need a heat source. ive read some people use just a regular light bulb. is this the recommended way? how many watts and what kind of fixture can i use with it? if its not, what is the recommended way and again what kind of fixture do i use? bowser is in a 40 gal breeder. THanks!!

Regular light bulbs are fine for heat. Get the clamp lamps with the ceramic base (2 of them is probably best) and play around with the wattage. I have a 75 watt bulb on one side a 60 watt on the other side of my 55 gallon, but 40 breeders are not as tall, so you may have to play with it a bit. Make sure you have thermometers with probes to accurately measure the temperatures.
