Hey guys I'm moving my beardie from his 20 gallon long into a 48×24×18" pvc enclosure. I'm just trying to get the temps dialed in before I move him. I have tried a 50 and 38 watt halogen and both were too hot. I had a couple other bulbs laying around one was a 100 watt zoo med that was reading about 117 and the other was a regular 75 watt incandescent and it only reached about 90. I guess my question is where do I go next. Thanks

I would use the 100 watt zoo med. The beardie can always move away from the heat if he gets too warm. As long as your cool side sits around 80-85 degrees and his basking spot is about 115 degrees then I say your good.

I would use the 100 watt one, and just get a table dimer (less than $15 on Amazon). What thermometer are you using?

I just ordered the dimmer. I use a regular digital thermometer for ambient temps and a Lazer temp gun for the basking area. He is only about three months old so his basking spot is pretty huge In comparison to him for the time being and temp ranges from about 95 on the outer edges to about 117 in the direct center. I'm thinking he will have plenty of room to choose an ideal spot until the dimmer gets here

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
