I recently put a fake rock backing in my beardie's tank for him to climb on, the problem is that he stands on his back legs and tries to touch the UVB light. I know not having enough UVB can cause problems, but what about overexposure?
I use the repti-sun 10 in a hood that sits on top of the tank. The rock goes all the way across and almost to the top, he can climb all the way up but can't touch the bulb.
I've heard that closer than 4" to the reptisun 10.0 can be too much. Does he spend a lot of time up there or just a little? I had to rearrange the furniture in my girl's viv because she was jumping for the UVB light.
Well, I've had to take the backing out because he found a way to get behind it and got stuck several times. Thank you for the advice, if I put another one in I'll be sure it is safe for him to use.
I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
