Can you do this to get your lizard to #2?

Just wondering if a person has a dragon that is constipated, can you induce defecating by giving the dragon regular lettuce or other foods that normally cause watery stools?

and for the record, this is hypothetically speaking on my behalf - my dragon goes same time, same channel, every day and sometimes twice a day and we definitely don't do lettuce....I'm just thinking out loud here b/c I don't know what I'd do if mine ever *couldn't* go.

Normally, lettuce causes watery stools and could dehydrate a dragon, but to me it would seem that would be an ideal situation if a dragon was holding it in and the stool may need some softening to come out w/out lacerating it's innards....

any thoughts? :|

many people use apple sauce or baby pumpkin food.

well, if you had to choose, force-feeding those two mentioned or having a dragon willingly eat lettuce...which would you do?

You don't necessarily have to force feed them. My girls will willingly eat baby food dabbed on their salads.

I've never heard of lettuce being used for that purpose and I think it would take a lot to work if it would. When I was a kid I had reptiles that lived off lettuce and I didn't have a problem with loose or watery stools.

I dont use those methods myself but if they will eat it im sure it may help.
I prefer long warm soaks.
On a couple of tough occasions I used a little olive oil.
