The light is 11" away from the top of her house. I had a hollow log there but it was getting gross no matter how many times i cleaned it and i wanted to get her somewhere to actually hide from my two kids constantly peering in on her.

One of the main issues I see is the substrate, it needs to be removed asap! It looks like the corn cob bedding, which is VERY DANGEROUS for dragons. Actually all loose substrates pose a serious health risk, (impaction) which can cause paralysis and, or death.
Rough textured floor tile is my substrate of choice! It is easy to clean, doesn't harbour bacteria an mold, easily disinfected and keeps their nails trimmed nicely. Others you can use are nonadhesive shelf liner, paper towels, news print or, vinyl flooring.
An elevated basking area (climbing log) would be a good addition so he can get closer to the lights by choice. They love to climb, lol!

I agree, everything actually looks great but it's best to get rid of the substrate. The nice log you have can be propped up against the new cave to add height and your beardie should enjoy climbing it. :)

Okay, I'll look into getting tile. Not trying to sound arrogant or anything just posting argument for learning purpose. She has been on that substrate for 8 months ever since i got her and I've never had an issue so far. She poops and eats regulary, i soak her once a week and mist her once a day(she loves the water, gets all excited when she sees me get the spray bottle). She's eaten some of the millet befor but it seems to pass right through. She's fed crickets and superworms. Collard greens with bell pepper for salad. Doesn't seem to care much for phoenix worms.... is there anything i can use as a substrate she can burrow in? She burrows down when she sleeps.

Millet can really impact them, there's a thread in the E.R right now where the dragon doesn't show signs of impaction but is severely bloated, like it has swallowed a tennis ball. The consensus is that it's full of the millet.

At any rate, children's playsand is the least risky of any loose bedding. Tammy from Draggintails b.d's [ a 25 year professional breeder] has used it for all er dragons and never had impaction. I used it off + on for over 25 years myself with no impaction. The risk is pretty low.

No, the pet store calcium sand is more likely to cause impaction, it turns in to a sludge type mixture after being swallowed. Children's playsand can be bought at Lowe's, Walmart, Home Depot. It must say play sand....not construction sand.

Okay I'll go that way. I would just feel bad if she couldn't burrow anymore. I mean i would feel horrible if she got impacted. Thankyou all for your help, i want Lola to be as happy as possible :)

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
