Can some one give a little info for me plz (bd) Black beard?

Hello all

Just need some advise really.
All day today for the first time Oscar has had a black beard (hes 9 and a half months old) there is no difference in his behavour meaning i have still held him and stuff and no puffing the beard its just the colour lol

Here is a picture only taken before it got darker as the day went on to the colour it is on here.

I went to feed him his crickets and he has no interest gave him his treat of locust and still no interest just letting them crawl all over him what is not like him al all. I then gave him one wax worm which he jumped at lol.

I have checked his temps which are 107f right under the basking spot and around 74f to 78f in the cool end so im confused in what this means first time so just need to know why hes doing this.

Hello there,
At 9 months I think your little one is just discovering his hormones.
I would only be concerned if he wasnt pooping or eating for aswell. (dont worry, turning down one sitting of crix isnt an issue).

Ruben is only 6 months but since we've got him home he black beards on and off when he is inside his viv.
He stomps around and gives it the whole "Yeah this is my house. You see this house??? Thats right. Mine."

Today i have had a normal day no black beard but he is still refusing to eat his crickets and won't eat any greens just closes his eyes and turns his head in disgust lol this is the second day now do you think i have anything to worry about?? and if no if it carrys on when should i start worrying??

Hi, I'm in a similar situation. Got my very first black beard today, and he hasn't touched his breakfast or some superworms I tried him with at lunchtime. He's now giving me some very dark looks from underneath his log :evil: He seems as alert and as energetic as usual when he was out earlier. But something MissT said struck a chord. The only thing we changed about 'his' house was we fitted timer switches yesterday. I came in about fifteen minutes after his lights switches came on this morning and I was greeted with a big dirty black beard. Since we had him I've been switching his lights on manually every morning. I wonder if he was PO'd because I didn't jump to attention this morning like a good beardie slave! :lol:

Today i am a bit happier he has ate some crickets after 3 days but wouldn't eat them from his normal place i had to put them in a bowl and go into the viv and i have made sure there is not any in there, and i have had no black beard since that day so i have no idea what it was ....if it is him starting to go into puberty he would of had more than one day of a black beard wouldn't he????

I love him to bits but he drives me up the wall with worry :?
