Can I wash my beardie’s carpet with detergent?

Usually I use a natural kind of cleaner to scrub off my bearded dragons substrate (which is a carpet type of substrate) but I ran out and haven’t been able to find more at any of my local stores. Rinsing it hasn’t been good enough and I want to toss it into the washer and use detergent, but would that harm my bearded dragon when I put the carpet back in with her?

That would be O.K only if you rinse it extra with hot water to get all the scent out. You could also wash it by hand with a little dish soap and vinegar and then rinse well.

I've tossed repticarpet in the washer before and it works well. I typically hang the carpet to air dry rather than using a dryer in order to minimize wear on the carpet.
