I have a million in my yard too. Pill bugs live off of eating dead plants. So feeding them from the wild could be dangerous if you have toxic plants I guess. I would think that they are mostly shell so dont know how much nutrition there is to them. :?:

Though I also have millions of anoles and I have seen them eat them so dont know.

yep, i know they eat dead leaves, fruit and every kind of vegies :) i know that they have a very hight CA:p intake (12:1)...about the rest of their protein and fat and moisture, etc...i don't know

i have like 50 in my faunarium to breed...they are really interesting creactures! in my backyard i don't have toxic plants so and i don't use pesticides...so it's ok to my beardie!

best regards and thank you for your kick reply :D

Any outdoor insect can carry parasites which can transfer to your bearded dragon, this is why it's recommended to never feed any wild caught insect.

Pill bugs have always been a great feeder for my smaller salamanders and frogs. If your beardie was into them and you get them from a place that doesn't treat with pesticides, I'd say go for it. You can always collect some and culture your own, too. They're a bit small, but I suppose my adult does try to get at my small bug cultures sometimes. It's always recommended to allow a few days of bugs (especially wild caught) feeding from your own food and gutload before you feed them to your critters to allow their bodies to cleanse a bit (poop out the previous food) and to add some extra nutrition.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
