when i was coming up to my mums classroom, shes a teacher , i found him on the porch leading into her room. reminding you, i live in ireland, its cold here 250 days a year. luckily, school just started. its always sunny when school starts. i found him basking in the son. still, it was only 20 celsius, so not hot enough. i put him in a box and brought him home. i had only a uv light. i put in a low wattage bulb and the only bad thing is heat. can he survive 2 days without heat? please answer. and what light should i get? ps its a heat light and only the one that fits the exo terra compact top. thankyou.

Heat is very important to them, you can use a regular household bulb to accomplish this. UV recommendations are pretty straight forward, ReptiSun 10.0 tube, avoid the compact coiled ones.

Also;

Are you getting him a perm home like a tank? How are you checking his temps? How old is he/she?

Yes they are the ones that look like this.

Avoid these. The only bulb anyone will recommend is the ReptiSun 10.0 tube. Stay away from the " ReptiGlo 10.0 " these are no good.

If you dotn have a tank for him yet and are having a hard time keeping him warm, you can also place him on a warm rice sock. Just put some rice into a sock and heat the sock in the microwave for about 40 seconds. Then place him on it, it will help warm him up a bit. Make sure the sock is not too hot!

Do you plan on getting him out of the box? There are a few things you'll need to address soon to ensure he has a healthy environment. How do you plan to take the temps? Make sure he can get within 6-8 inches of the UVB, what do you plan on using as a substrate? Are you going to supplement his food? Do you have crickets? roaches? Fresh salads daily? Provide as much info as you can. You can use a regular household bulb for heat, bright white is best, or a flood / halogen. You'll need to make sure the temps are good.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
