Heya, Recently I swapped from crickets to reptiworms and a change in mood has happened in one of my beardies. Its a change for the better. It seems she is more alert throughout the day goes into her hide less basks on her rock more and eagerly eats. This morning she seen me get the container out and was window dancing as she seen the dish fill up. Both of my beardies love them so I think im going to stick with them for a while. Is it possible that the change in food changed her mood?

Yep. When I get the crickets out, D&B just sit like lumps. If I get the dubias or superworms, It is a different story. They go nuts and after eating, Buster lays on his hammock bright yellow, happy as can be.

Do you guys suggest worms over crickets? I've been giving mine crickets and he eats them but I'm just wondering if there is something even better for him to have.

I have read some people use reptiworms over other bugs due to less noise odor and easier to care for and will not bite your pets. The downside is price they are more expensive than crickets.

Are those just as nutritious as other bugs?
I am not liking these crickets; they are nasty little things. They are stinky and I probably have a few hopping around my apartment somewhere. :banghead:

I would say the best feeder are dubia roaches or Turkistan roaches or lobster roaches. Dubias being the easiest and slowest ones. Phoenix/repti/calci worms are 2nd since they are a lot smaller plus unless you have a wine cooler, you really cant keep a lot on hand or they will pupate. Then there are crickets, the embodiment of satan in an insect. They stink, make noise, bite/eat your beardie and anything else, jump all over, don't live long. Only upside to them is they are cheap and readily available.

And yes I've seen Harley change from eating dubias. She got spoiled and turned her nose up at crickets and now she doesn't even care for phoenix worms that much but she loves her dubias. I'm thinking of giving hornworms a try but for some reason those things kind of creep me out and I heard you should crush the heads before feeding them to your beardie or else if he/she grabs it wrong, the worm can turn back and bite your beardie in the eye. Read about that happening on chameleon forums to chameleons. Wasn't a pretty sight seeing the pictures either.

What i do for my male 1 1/2 year old beardie is i give him veggies everyday (kale/collar green etc.) and give him meal worms (large) every 2-3 days and i give him crickets (10+) 1-2 times a week.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
